Rev. Thomas (Tom) Brokaw began as Pastor at Hughesville Baptist Church on August 1, 2007, after first serving HBC as Interim Pastor since March 4, 2007.  Before coming to HBC, Pastor Tom served as pastor in churches in Pottstown, Pennsylvania and Fairmount, Indiana.

Before entering the pastorate, Tom was a business education/U.S. History teacher in the state of Indiana for over five years.  Tom has received his education from Ball State University (Muncie, IN—B.S. and M.A.E.), and Anderson (IN) University School of Theology (M.Div.).

Tom has been married to Dorothea (Benzenbower) Brokaw since 1983.   Dorothea and Tom met while as students at Ball State.  Since graduating from Ball State, Dorothea has worked as a Registered Nurse in both the hospital and the home care settings; she is currently working as a labor/delivery nurse at Williamsport Hospital.

Dorothea and Tom have three children.  Joshua, a 2009 graduate of the University of Chicago, is currently working and living in Chicago; Emily is a sophomore at Misericordia University in Dallas, PA, and Jonathan is a junior at Hughesville Junior-Senior High School.  Also, the Brokaws live with two dogs (Timber, a keeshond, and Daisy, a golden retriever) and two cats (Izzo and Verde).

While not busy with either church or family functions, Tom is a big college football and basketball fan, and enjoys reading, especially U.S. history.  Tom also is the 7th grade boys basketball coach at the Hughesville Junior-Senior High School.
